Who we are
Sitetals.com is operated by QUIKFORGE LIMITED (trading as Sitetals), a company incorporated in Hong Kong (BR No. 79555262). Registered office: Unit 2A, 17/F, Glenealy Tower, No.1 Glenealy, Central, Hong Kong S.A.R. Director: Olivier Jobert. Contact: legal@sitetals.com
This policy explains what we store on your device when you visit sitetals.com, the legal bases for that storage, and how you can change your choice at any time.
Legal framework and language versions
Storage on your device is governed by the ePrivacy rules of the country you visit from, alongside the GDPR (Regulation (EU) 2016/679): in France, Article 82 of Law No. 78-17 of 6 January 1978 (Loi Informatique et Libertés), supervised by the CNIL; in Germany, § 25 of the TDDDG (Telekommunikation-Digitale-Dienste-Datenschutz-Gesetz, formerly TTDSG); in Singapore, the Personal Data Protection Act 2012 (PDPA) applies where storage involves personal data.
This policy is also published in French and German, and a Singapore-specific version is available at sitetals.com/sg/cookie-policy.html. All versions describe the same storage operations.
What we store on your device
We use exactly one storage entry on this website. It is a browser localStorage entry — not an HTTP cookie — but it falls within the scope of the ePrivacy rules above, which cover any storage of, or access to, information on your device:
| Name | Type | Purpose | Retention |
|---|---|---|---|
cookie_consent |
Strictly necessary (localStorage) | Records whether you accepted or declined our cookie notice, together with a timestamp and the version of this policy | 12 months — after that the notice is shown again and your choice is renewed |
This entry does not track you. It contains only your choice (accepted/declined), a timestamp and the policy version. It is not shared with any third party and never leaves your device — we do not receive or store a copy of it on our servers.
Legal basis: the "strictly necessary" exemption from prior consent (Article 82 Loi Informatique et Libertés in France; § 25(2) No. 2 TDDDG in Germany), and our legitimate interest in remembering your choice (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR).
What we do NOT use (currently)
- No analytics service (no Google Analytics, Matomo, or similar)
- No social media tracking pixels
- No Google Fonts from external CDN — all fonts are self-hosted
- No third-party tracking scripts
Note on advertising: We may add advertising (such as Google AdSense) in the future. If we do, this policy will be updated and a fresh consent mechanism will be implemented before any advertising or tracking technology is activated — with declining as easy and as visible as accepting.
Embedded videos (YouTube)
A few of our blog articles include videos hosted on YouTube. To protect your privacy these videos do not load automatically. Each appears as a static placeholder that sends no data to YouTube or Google, and the placeholder itself tells you, before any connection is made, that clicking will load the video from YouTube (Google), set YouTube/Google cookies and transmit your IP address to Google, including to servers in the United States.
Only when you actively click the placeholder does the video load from youtube-nocookie.com (YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode). At that point YouTube/Google may set cookies on your device, receive your IP address and collect device information, as described in Google's Privacy Policy.
Transfer to the United States: loading the video transmits personal data (your IP address) to Google, including to US servers. Google LLC is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, and the video loads only after your affirmative click on a placeholder carrying the notice above. If you do not click, no connection to YouTube or Google is made.
Your consent record
Your choice is recorded — together with a timestamp and the version of this policy you saw — inside the cookie_consent entry on your own device. We keep no server-side copy. Deleting the entry (see below) is the complete withdrawal of that record.
Managing or withdrawing your choice
You can change or withdraw your choice at any time, with immediate effect:
- One-click reset on this page: the button below deletes the stored entry immediately. The notice will be shown again on the next page you open. This page is linked as "Cookie Policy" in the footer of every page of this site.
- Browser settings: alternatively, clear the localStorage for this domain in your browser's privacy settings.
✓ Done — your stored choice has been deleted. The notice will appear again on the next page you open.
Because the entry described above is strictly necessary, accepting or declining has no effect on site functionality — everything works identically either way.
Retention and renewal
The cookie_consent entry is kept for 12 months. After that, it is treated as expired, deleted, and the notice is shown again so that your choice is renewed — consistent with the CNIL's recommendation that consent be renewed at least every 13 months.
Your rights
Your rights over personal data (access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection, withdrawal of consent) and the competent complaint routes are set out in our Privacy Policy.
Changes to this policy
If we materially change our storage practices or introduce new technologies, we will update this policy and, where required, seek your renewed consent before any new technology is activated.
